What are the Steps in Filing a Mesothelioma Lawsuit and Finding the Right Mesothelioma Attorney?

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

By Matt West In order to get compensation for mesothelioma, filing a lawsuit is quite imperative. However the process is quite long drawn and tedious. The most important step pertaining to the same is selecting the correct mesothelioma attorney or law firm. It is important to find a good, decent and experienced mesothelioma lawyer as soon as possible after one has been diagnosed with the disease. In most places there is a set time limit within which one can file a lawsuit, and it is very important that the victim party does not miss that deadline. Otherwise it may land you up as an ineligible claimant. So, the earlier you get to a mesothelioma lawyer, the better are your chances of success. Apart from that the firm should be trustworthy one and the victim party should build up an excellent relationship cum rapport with the same. If one is considering about filing a mesothelioma lawsuit, then the victim party should meet up with several law firms before making the final decision. There are a large number of law firms who are specialized in filing mesothelioma lawsuits. In order to choose the correct law firm for filing your lawsuit, the following steps can be followed: Start the Search: You can look for a qualified mesothelioma attorney in various bar associations, Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory that is found in most public libraries, Yellow Pages, and of course the Internet. Law firms normally have their own sites. Narrow down the Field: After compiling a list of some mesothelioma law firms in your area, try to make establish contact with them either by mail, email or telephone for further information. It is important to provide the law firms with details of your legal issue and find out if they can handle your situation. Also enquire about their fees for an initial consultation and an estimate of the total costs involved in handling a mesothelioma lawsuit. It is recommended that the victim party make schedule appointments with two or three different law firms before coming to the final decision. Meet the Prospective Attorneys: During the initial consultation, it is important that you and your lawyer get to know each other. There has to be a free flow of exchange words between both of you. After carefully reviewing your case, the lawyer must be in a position to inform you of your rights and suggest alternative courses of action, if any. Moreover, it is during this initial consultation period that a mesothelioma attorney can explain what he or she can do for you and how much will be the cost factor. Also it is important for you to know about the attorneys experience in handling previous mesothelioma lawsuits. If you are totally satisfied with the details, you may request a written fee agreement before proceeding and a list of references that you may contact. Making your Decision: After each initial consultation, it is important to consider the following questions about the mesothelioma attorney you just met: Did I got a firm understanding of my alternative courses of action from the attorney? Was the attorney knowledgeable about asbestos law? Was I given enough time and did the person listened to me carefully? Did the attorney seem trustworthy? Am I understanding the range of possible results, which might spill out during each course of action? Fees: It is important to consider this aspect with due diligence. To lower costs, you can ask your asbestos lawyer to employ a junior lawyer to perform a certain part of the entire process. You can also do some tasks by yourself to save time and money (Provided your attorney allows you to do the same). An asbestos lawyer may charge a flat fee for a specific task or offer other methods of payment. Also you can go for contingent fee arrangement process. A contingent fee arrangement is that your lawyer gets a percentage of the compensation money you receive as resolution of your asbestos lawsuit. If you do not receive compensation for the lawsuit then your lawyer collects no fees. A contingency fee is a good option for those people who cannot do away with hourly legal fees. Also you may incur charges on other fronts like; court fees, copying, hiring expert witnesses etc. Mesothelioma lawsuit records: Keep copies of all the documents that you hand over to your lawyer relating to your lawsuit. Inexpensive Craft Project - Poinsettia Basket

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

By Michele Graham Summer is really here in most parts of the country which makes a perfect time to start working on your Christmas craft projects, since it is too hot to go outside. There are many simple and inexpensive crafts you can make for Christmas gifts that are quick and easy. One of my favorites is a basket of poinsettias. This is a quick and easy project anyone can do! You can purchase inexpensive baskets at any of the dollar stores for $3.00 or under. You will need your hot glue gun, a block of floral styrofoam and several bunches of silk poinsettias. You can purchase the poinsettias anywhere from 99 cents to $3.99 per bunch, depending on which craft store you buy them from. You will also need some additional greenery, like holly. You can purchase a strand of silk holly that can be cut the lengths you need. Additionally, you need a bag of Spanish moss for filler. Finally, you will need 4-5 yards of #9 craft ribbon. Also, a can of spray glitter. Steps to assemble: 1. Hot glue the styrofoam block into the bottom of your basket. 2. Cover the foam with the Spanish moss. 3. Start adding your bunches of poinsettias, having them high in the center and tapering lower to the sides. 4. Make a bow from your craft ribbon, leaving lon tails that you can hot glue in ripples, along the handle of the basket. 5. Finish off by spraying the glitter all over the baskets and the flowers. You can make these arrangements as large or small as you would like. I have a large one, with the basket being about 18 inches in diameter that I keep on my fireplace hearth at Christmas. Smaller ones can be used for smaller places. This technique is also good for white baskets with spring flowers for summer and spring. I also use lots of pine cones in baskets using this techniques, sprinkling glass Christmas balls in different places with the cones, making an inexpensive, beautiful arrangement. Ideas On Planning Your Big Day And Letting Others Help

Monday, October 29th, 2007

By Victor Epand It’s great that you’re starting to think about planning your wedding early. The earlier you start, the less stress you’ll have. What I always suggest is setting down with your hubby to be and see what you BOTH want regarding your big day. Once that is established, its time to get your “maid of honor” and your bridesmaids lined up… and let the fun begin!! This is the time for you gals to really enjoy. Start looking for and trying on dresses. Work out color schemes. Please be mindful of your guy though. Many women tend to push them out of the picture and he shown no interest (or even requested to be excluded altogether) do try to keep him in the mix. Start researching venues, talk to rental companies. I can’t stress this next tip enough…. MAKE AN “IDEA BOARD”… this is important because unless you have a crystal clear picture in mind, your bound to change things a time or two, and this could really save you money. Go to your local craft store, get a piece poster board… and design your wedding/reception on paper first. Cut pictures out of magazines, collect scrape of materials that you plan to use… put it all on your board. Make notes as well. Planning and organization are key to making things run smoothly further down the line. Utilize the internet… search places like theknot.com or brides.com; they have a ton of information, message boards and forums. Getting a binder and a checklist would be a great first step, as well. You don’t have to buy one of those big wedding planning books (they are useless and too expensive, in my opinion). You could just get a regular three-ring binder and put a checklist and some loose-leaf paper in it. As for the checklist, there are a lot of free checklists available online. If that one doesn’t work for you, you can just Google “wedding checklist” and find one that suits you. The most important things to do first are: book the church and the reception hall. Unfortunately, that means choosing a date (which is hard to do, I know). Once those two things are done, the rest will come pretty easily. Churches and halls are often booked two years in advance, so it’s important that you lock in your date asap. Also, since you are getting married in the Catholic Church, you will need to set up your first appointment with your priest so you can schedule your classes and meetings, etc. It’s also important to set a budget for the big day and beyond. Has anyone, such as your parents offered to pay for part of the wedding? If not, if you’d like some etiquette help regarding asking them. So sit down with them or your to-be in-laws and see what they are willing to help the two of you with. The next thing you might want to do is request a guest list with addresses from your parents and your fiance parents. I know it seems a bit early to ask this, but you’d be surprised how many people drag their feet on this; thus, makes the bride goes CRAZY! Next, you might want to figure out who will be in your bridal party and ask them to be in your wedding. If you have someone who is a bit short on cash, this will give her enough time to save her money. Other than that, you can just follow your checklist and try to accomplish each point as soon as you can. Like I said, the earlier you start getting things done, the less stress you’ll have. Some things to keep in mind: Although you will probably need to bend on a few things, don’t forget that this is YOUR wedding! Try not to let the many opinions of others get you down. YOU are the boss! Have your fiance help! One good task to put him on would be the honeymoon plans. This will keep him busy and make him feel like he’s doing something useful regarding the wedding planning. Get your girls to help! The whole purpose of a bridesmaid is to support the bride. Ask one of them to look into halls, the other to shop for guest gifts, the other to find a photographer, etc. They will probably like feeling needed and their efforts will take some of the load off of you. But, if you put them to work, don’t forget to get them a very nice “thank you” gift. Relax and have fun. If I hadn’t kept laughing while planning my wedding, I would’ve probably landed in the Looney bin. Also, when it comes to the big day, a relaxed bride equals a fun wedding. I don’t care what the budget is…if the bride and groom are having a good time, the guests will follow. Victor Epand is an expert commentator at http://www.CustomDesignPostcards.com. Techniques of Wet Fly Fishing

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

By Brett Fogle Many anglers who are new to fly fishing consider dry fly fishing the traditional way of catching trout. Well, thats not entirely true. Wet fly fishing dates back hundreds of years, well before dry fly fishing came around. Wet fly fishing is one of the best ways for anglers to get introduced to sub-surface fishing. Unlike nymph and dry fly fishing, where skill, practice and precise imitations are needed to effectively take trout consistently, wet fly fishing can provide rewards quickly - even to beginner anglers. Unlike dry fly fishing and nymph fly fishing - when using wet flies, the angler is not attempting to precisely imitate any particular insect. Wet Fly Fishing : Basic Overview Instead of looking precisely like a particular type of insect, a wet fly is more an imitation of a stage of life of aquatic insects. Many wet flies imitate a struggling nymph as it attempts to reach the surface of the river. These same wet flies also suitably imitate dead or drowning insects. Either way, one thing about wet flies is that they generally imitate aquatic insects in motion (moving to the surface, drowning in the water, etc) not just floating merrily along in the current, completely helpless (although that is done, too!). Unlike dry fly or nymph fly fishing, wet fly fishing can also be very rewarding to beginner anglers. Perfect, or even good technique, is not needed for new anglers to hook some nice fish. And the reason for this is because of the way most wet fly fishing is done neither requiring perfect casts nor split-timing when setting the hook. When fly fishing with wet flies, anglers frequently will use 2 or more flies together. By using two or more flies together in a dropper setup (described later), an angler can improve their chances of finding biting trout. So, lets take a close look at how wet fly fishing works, what is used and why any angler should give it a try even on those rivers that are normally the dry fly fishermans playground. There are many different types of flies available for wet fly fishing. Normally, most wet flies have soft hackling. The reason for this is because this type of hackling has fibers in it that move around in the water sort of inviting the trout to take it in. Additionally, unlike most nymphs, wet flies are designed to sink rather quickly, since wet fly fishing is generally done closer to the bottom of the river. For this reason, many wet flies tend to be a bit heavier and are tied in a wide variety of ways. Each way designed to sink the fly in a particular manner than the typical nymph. Frequently, wet flies tend to be fished in areas that have fast moving water. Because of this, many anglers fly fish wet flies using a sinking tip line. While using a sink-tip fly line can definitely aid the fly in getting down to the right depth, an angler who only has a floating fly line should not despair. Generally, simply using weights on the leader or the fly line can do an adequate job of pulling down a wet fly to the right depth. Wet Fly Fishing : Dropper Flies As mentioned, wet flies are frequently fished in groups of flies not just a single fly by itself. When a second, or third, fly is used, it is called a dropper fly. A dropper fly, which is a very effective and rather ancient method of wet fly fishing, is a fly that is tied to the main leader. When rigging up your fly fishing gear using a dropper fly, simply attach the first fly onto the end of the tippet as you normally would. Then, for the second fly, take a 12 inch of tippet material and tie it to the leader about 12-24 inches above the first fly. Attach the second fly to the end of that line. You now have a dropper fly set up. Additional flies can also be attached you are in no way limited to just using 1 or 2 flies. However, the more flies you have, the greater the likelihood of tangles occurring both when casting and in hooking underwater obstructions. For beginner anglers, it is probably best to start with one fly, then go to two flies when comfortable with basic casting and wet fly fishing technique. Either way, one nice thing about a dropper fly is that it allows anglers to test out flies at the same time. Thus, you can tie on one type as normal, then tie on a completely different looking wet fly as a dropper fly. Its a great way to quickly experiment around to see what works and what doesnt on a particular river (especially a new one youve never fished before). you may even be rewarded with having two or more fish hooked simultaneously. Great Kitchen Herb Gardens

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

By Joey V. Davidson “Show me your garden and I shall tell you what you are.” Alfred Austin’s quote on garden comes close to describing the passion many gardeners feel about their flowering weeds. For the indoor gardener, this is especially true since most gardeners who bring their gardening indoors do so for a specific purpose. This purpose usually goes beyond a way to express one’s spirit. Kitchen herb gardens can also purify the air and be harvested for seasoning cooking delights, ornamental creations, and ingredients in cleansers. When setting out, the new herb garden enthusiast will likely choose the failsafe herbs, just like the pioneers did. There was a mix of herbs used by the pioneers - some were those brought carefully across the Atlantic from their country of origin, and others were those that had been long used by Native Americans. These were seasoning herbs and those that helped keep meat edible for the longest time. Both settlers and natives had medicinal herbs in their apothecary, and many happily shared their knowledge. Some of these cures have not stood up to scientific scrutiny, but still we tend to associate herbs with medicine. The best place to start a kitchen herb garden is along a south or west window. If winter sunlight is poor in your kitchen, invest in a “grow lamp” or fluorescent lighting for better lighting. As your indoor garden expands, you may want to invest in special shelving that fits into your indoor window frame. Indoor Window Gardening (http://www.indoorwindowgardening.com) offers plant hangers and adjustable Plexiglas shelves that lengthen by cable, which are connected to a bracket that is mounted to your window molding. Below are tips for preparing your planter: - Use a planter with plenty of drainage holes since herbs don’t like soggy roots. Set the planter on a drainage tray. - Line the bottom of the pot with one inch of gravel. Mix potting soil two parts to one part sand. Sweeten each “5-inch” pot’s worth of soil mixture with 1 tsp. of ground limestone. - Put herbs that require the same amount of watering in prepared planter. Pick herbs according to how you intend to use your garden. For instance, will these herbs be for cooking or for show? Many herbs will crossover from one purpose to another purpose. For example, marjoram, mint, basil, chive, and sage work as seasoning, have incredible flowers, and are especially aromatic. To get ideas on which herbs to grow in your kitchen, check the seasoning aisle at your grocery store. Some other great herbs that can be harvested and used fresh or dried for later use include saffron, chive, tarragon, thyme, anise, and dill. Phyllis McGinley said “The trouble with gardening is that it does not remain an avocation. It becomes an obsession.” This has a ring of truth as once you get to grips with growing and reaping the benefits of your indoor herb garden you won’t be able to stop. Copyright 2005 Joey V. 5 Secrets to Date a Younger Woman

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

By Crid Lee Why do some guys want to date women who are much younger than them? The reason behind this is because a younger woman can bring an amazing energy, vibe, and a youthful atmosphere to a man. I know that there will be people thinking that dating a woman who is 10 years younger than you is gross. But everyone has their own opinions. There will be some women who only date guys who are 10 years older than them! Therefore, do not let other people opinions distract you. Younger girls prefer guys who are older than them, because they will feel that guys who are older than them are more mature. The traits that attract women are most probably being found in older men, for example traits like higher status, confidence, leadership, and many more. Let me share with you 5 secrets when dating a younger woman: 1. Be cool. Do not act too serious. Be yourself, but shows the other side of you. Imagine that you are back to school again. Women will find that although you are mature in term of age, but you are actually fun to hang out with as you still got the young touch. 2. Let her come to you, do not chase her. Do make the move too early. Be laid back and play hard to get. 3. Be chivalrous. Open doors, walking on the outside of the curbs, and pulling out chairs for them will make a big impression in women. When you combine a powerful presence with chivalrous, you will make yourself very attractive to women. 4. Tease her, and make fun of her. Say all the things that you do not have the chance to say when you are a freshman. Call her on everything that she does, or says that it is immature. 5. Do not interfere or control their lives. Younger women do not like to be controlled, as they have just got away from the claws of their parents. Give them rooms, and let them come to you, do not force them. Understand attraction and you are on your way to date your dream young woman. Drop It Like It’s Hot Marketing

By Richard O’Brien Garlic fries. I love them. Do you know why? Because each bite is a burst of flavor. The anticipation of eating garlic fries causes secretions in your mouth before you even insert the potato goodness in your mouth. Just thinking about garlic fries makes me want to go get some even thou its 9:23 in the morning. OK, whats really going on here? Its what I call Drop it like its hot marketing. Words so flavorful that they stick in your mind like Captain Crunch shreds the roof of your mouth. In order to get people to take action you have to add more than the facts in your advertising copy. You want to reach out through the computer grab there hand and encourage them to click the buy button, pull out their credit card, type it in, and press the authorize button. Trust me, if you cant make them feel an emotion, thats not going to happen no matter how good your product or service is. So what are some key words that get people activating their emotional cortex? Amazing, incredible, love, hate, new, and secrets. Is it really a surprise that the book and DVD The Secret has done so well? Not really, the title alone captures the readers attention. Most people cant walk by the book without taking a peek inside. They want to know the secret! It strikes an instant emotional chord. I just saw a really excellent movie this week called The Prestige. Its about two young magicians who are rivals during the turn of the 20th century. One of the magicians comes up with an illusion called The Transported Man and opens his shows to rave reviews. What does the other magician do? He creates a knock off of the illusion and entitles his act The New Transported Man and sells out his theatre. Both magicians captivate their audiences; one was original and the other an imitation. The result: both sold seats. So study headlines, ask you what about these set of words or pictures make me feel something. Because when you connect with your audience they will buy what youre selling.
